Hongkong' 15 (Day 1 - 3)

Hello! Glad to be able to update this space despite my busy schedule heh. 2 weeks ago, I flew to Hongkong for a short but very enjoyable holiday.
Hope you enjoy this post about my 5 days there!

Day 1 (1 Jun):

This time, we stayed in Royal Plaza Hotel located in Mongkok. We took a taxi from the airport and arrived at the hotel at about 11 am but we could only check in at 3 pm!! So we decided to walk around the area and have lunch before returning to the hotel.

We had lunch at Food Opera in MOKO, a shopping mall linked directly to our hotel! We were quite tired and too lazy to find food so we settled there for lunch :~)

Loveee the milk tea in HK!!!

My favourite beef brisket noodles :-P

Osmanthus jelly for dessert

After our lunch, we finally got to see our hotel room and freshen up a bit.

Warm welcome for us

Panoramic view from our hotel room :) We were facing the swimming pool!

The room was quite spacious and comfortable but I felt that the bed and pillows were slightly too stiff :|

We had dinner at Hong Lin Restaurant, a café we found along the streets of Mongkok. I had a bowl of BBQ pork macaroni which was really good!! I forgot to take a picture of it cause I was too hungry...

Iced lemon tea

We walked down Fa Yuen Street (Flower Garden Street) after filling our tummies to see if we could get any good deals and yes there were a lot! :D They sold almost everything, from clothes to phone covers and everything was super affordable.
Here's some stuff I bought that night -

Tsum Tsum Phone cover!! (SUPER CUTE)

Tsum Tsum Pencilcase

Finishing our walk down Fa Yuen Street, we headed back to MOKO and bought some snacks at a Japanese supermarket, Yata! The things there were so adorable!!

Day 2 (2 Jun):

We started our day early in the morning by walking to Fa Yuen Cooked Food Centre for our breakfast. It was only a 5-minute walk thanks to the convenient location of our hotel! :~)

Acting demure outside Fa Yuen Cooked Food Centre HAHA

We decided to have our breakfast at Mui Kee Congee Stall, located on the 3rd floor of the food centre! It's a really good place for congee lovers and has received positive reviews from many.

 Waiting patiently for my congee!!

My congee with fresh pork slices!

The congee sold in Mui Kee was not only affordable, but very very yummy!! The ingredients used were super fresh and the congee was super smooth. I'm not a fan of congee but still ended up loving this stall. I would highly recommend the congee with fresh pork slices (Fresh is an understatement hahaha) cause it's so delicious and also something you won't get to eat in Singapore!

Having satisfied our stomachs, we made our way to Citygate Outlets, the only outlet mall in HK. Just alight at Tung Chung MTR Station and you'll see it when you come up! :)

Being a noob and dancing

Parents love to selfie!!

Dad's and mine Matcha + Vanilla cone from the Macs there :^)

There wasn't much to see or buy at the outlet mall but we came across a Japanese supermarket (AGAIN) and bought lots of food ha ha ha.

I see a lot of Tsum Tsum stuff here in HK!

We finished shopping (more of eating actually) quite early, so we took the MTR to Kwai Fong and did more shopping at Metroplaza and a mall opposite it (forgot what it's called). Metroplaza has more branded shops while the other mall had more trendy and affordable stuff!

Had our tea break at Euro Go Go, a European café that sold Western food!

Wah step

Cute garlic bread baked in different flavours

Baked potato with cheese, mushroom & bacon

I loved the ambience at the café, not mentioning the food :P If you're tired from shopping and you feel hungry, Euro Go Go will be a good place for you to rest and eat at the same time.

Here's some random photos we took -

We had a short rest in our hotel before going out for dinner at Chan Kee Roasted Goose. It sounds gross but trust me goose is super delicious (It's nicer than duck)!!!

This stall serves one of the best roasted goose in HK, as reviewed by many notable food blogs! The meat is tender and juicy, yet not too oily. Will definitely come here for more next time :]

Some photos I took while walking back to the hotel -

Day 3 (3 Jun):

Following our usual routine of taking the MTR, we went to Causeway Bay to eat and shop.

The streets of Causeway Bay!

They used trams instead of buses, which was something unique there.

We walked around for quite long before finally finding a café with good food hehe.

My maggi soup noodles with pork chop

Dad's fried maggi noodles with pork chop

Mom's maggi soup noodles with luncheon meat and egg

The maggi noodles sold in the cafés in HK are different from instant noodles, so if you do come across restaurants or cafés selling these noodles you should give it a try!!

Following our lunch, we took a tram to Jardine Bazzar in Causeway Bay.

 Cute food spotted

Later in the afternoon, we took the MTR to Sham Shui Po and had lots of fun at Dragon Centre. They sold mainly clothes and cute accessories and stationery!

We had our tea break at Café 360, a Japanese-style café which served great desserts! The furnishing is really nice too.

Waffles with fruits & ice-cream

Beef bolognese fries

The food here is super value-for-money, not to mention how good it is :-P

We had dinner at Hong Lin Restaurant again, but it was a different branch! I love the food here and would highly recommend the tomato soup maggi with beef slices. Can't find this in Singapore yikes I really want to eat it again :')

This is the end of my first 3 days in Hong Kong, will try to upload the next 2 days as soon as possible!
Thanks for reading and see you in the next post!
